From Tuesday 14th February to Sunday 26th February 2012

Signal Arts Centre is proud to host an exhibition of paintings by the Bray Active Retirement Association.  BARA was founded in 1988 and has offered a wide range of activities.  One of its most popular activities are the art classes.  One does not need any previous training to join and there is tuition available to all its members.

The organisation has always had access to trained professionals. The numbers who take an active roll in the art of expressing what they see around them is increasing all the time and all the participants have expressed feelings of increased awareness.  By taking part in various exhibitions the artists are given an opportunity to monitor their own progress.

The results achieved in the annual exhibitions, held by the Active Retirement Association of Ireland, bears testament to the progress artists make under the guidance of our tutors.  The assumption that painting and drawing is exclusive to any one class of persons is a miss conception.

With the upcoming exhibition, the members will showcase their work and will hopefully encourage others to take up this very enjoyable activity.  This exhibition by BARA promotes the visual arts in several ways; a visual art event provides an opportunity for the local public to engage with the visual arts and also enables the artists to create a synergetic approach.

This opportunity for the artists to show their work in such a central and suitable exhibition space as the Signal Arts Centre is another step on their visual development.

Opening Reception: Friday 17th February 7pm- 9pm
