From Tuesday 17th January to Sunday 29th January 2012

Signal Arts Centre is proud to present this collection of work by artist Rachel Fallon who is a native of Greystones, Co. Wicklow. She studied media communications at the College of Commerce, Rathmines, before working in film and design. She has worked with the Nouveau Cirque 'Gosh" and other modern circus' in France and Germany. Her paintings have been widely exhibited in Europe and Ireland. She currently lives in Bray, Co. Wicklow, where her practice has moved into installation and sculpture.

Fallon's work relates to dissonance in familiar surroundings, she explores that which does not fit and the unease that this evokes. By examining and reforming household territories, Fallon finds a new harmony while valuing the disquiet beneath the surface. Use of known landscapes can be interpreted as a provocation to look closer; discord may not be an obstacle to attraction.

Ritual processes of making and mending are informed by domestic and theatrical settings. Questions reveal themselves through the remodeling of situations, which in turn suggest how the finished work should be installed. The gathering of materials both organic and found and their re-interpretation plays a large part in her practice.

Opening Reception: Friday 20th January 7pm 9pm
