From Monday 22nd June to Sunday 5th July 2015

Signal Arts Centre is delighted to be exhibiting works by talented artist Douglas Ross.

'Fellow Travellers' is a body of work that looks at relationships. Much of the work was the result of intense exploration with couples about their relationship. The work is figurative and the imagery has a mythic quality to it.

Eugene Hwang review of Douglas Ross’s work at the Ico Gallery New York City:

“The men and women in Douglas Ross’s pieces have flawlessly porcelaneous skin and bodies too beautiful to cover in anything more than veils, sarongs and loin cloths. Always solemn in expression and often in reverently elegant poses, they are holy beings reminiscent of the Madonna, Druid Priestesses, Nymphs, and Biblical Queens.

Holiness and physical beauty seem intertwined to the point where one might go so far as to say that the subjects are beautiful because they are holy or holy because they are beautiful.”

Douglas Ross has exhibited in art Galleries and museums in nine countries.

He has won numerous international awards, most recently in the Photoshoot Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2015, he is bringing his work back home to Ireland and has five solo exhibitions on various themes that have been developed in recent years.
