From Tuesday 8th May to Sunday 20th May 2007
Signal Arts Centre is delighted to present Collaborators II, an exciting visual art exhibition.
Artist Douglas Ross has worked for the last 18 months with eleven other people to co-create a body of highly original and visually stunning works, depicting their shared experiences. The participants in this project include Karen Ward from RTE's Health Squard, Tango dancer Michael Cooney, make-up artist Nina Ayoub, Spanish chemist Maria Garcia Montanes, Californian artist Marc Moss, singer/songwriter Debra Wallace and writer Dermot McCabe. The work is the result of intense exploration of aspects of each person's life, often using myth and story to provide a framework. Much of the work is photomontage but there is also some three dimensional work.
Douglas Ross has worked collaboratively for many years and this exhibition is taking place exactly ten years after the first Collaborators show at Signal in 1997. Douglas Ross has just finished a six week show at the Gora Gallery in Montreal and has been invited to exhibit in the 2007 Florence Biennale.
His work can be seen at www.dougrossart.com.
Opening Reception: Friday 11th May 7-9pm
