Sofia Bury

I have been influenced by several artists: Van Gogh and Howard Hodgin in particular. My style reflects my creative response on an intuitive and meditative level to the world around me. Many of my paintings depict the moon, with its air of feminine mystery, and as a symbol it represents for me the divine presence in our lives.

I take no photos and do not sketch, but rather allow each painting to evolve from a fragment of colour and inner memory. As such I seek not to be in control, but more a channel for the richness of the world around me. This is an expression of my spirituality.

I have work in private collections in America, France, Canada, Isle of Wight, England and Ireland.
