Artists Circle Bray | A Creative Journey
A creative journey
(Celebrating over twenty years of the Bray Artist Circle)
A circle has no corners in which to hide, no hierarchy to discourage, no straight lines to curb the creative urge. The Bray Artist Circle has been in existence for more than twenty years fostering the abilities of their members, giving every individual a safe space to develop their gifts and a collegiate atmosphere in which to thrive.
Artistic experience is varied. Some members are well seasoned exhibitors and others are dipping a toe. All spend an enjoyable couple of hours weekly in convivial company with much chat and laughter, not to mention a break for a cuppa.
Nóirín Dodd, who started the group, explains that advice and assistance aplenty is available but that no formal teaching is involved. There is no one accepted medium: oils, pastels, watercolours, gouache, acrylic, inks, pencils or any mixture of media are equally embraced. The outcome is an eclectic one as can be seen in the hung works.
Workshops, guest speakers and optional plein air excursions are part of their activities. Above all, members support one another on their individual journey in art. A selection of their talented outcome can be seen in this diverse exhibition.
They meet every Monday in St. Cronan’s school in Bray and as they put it, operate “an open door policy “. All are welcome to join the circle on their own creative journey.
