Brigid Conroy | Moments

Brigid Conroy is an 83-year young self-taught artist who has been drawing and painting since childhood. She very often had to draw on the back of cornflake boxes when she couldn’t find any paper.
Painting has always been an important part of her life and now as an older woman she is consciously aware of how fleeting life is and it has become increasingly important for her to capture “Moments” in time.
Of her painting she opines, “I allow the paint to capture and tell the story, painting for me is like breathing”. This collection of paintings is the Moments that she sees in her daily life, the places and people she observes.
