Photographer Deirdre Maher Ridgway warmly invites you to join her on a heartfelt exploration of life through her lens. From September 2nd to 15th, immerse yourself in her multi-media exhibition at Signal Arts Centre, with the official opening on Friday, September 6th at 7pm.
Deirdre’s passion for photography traces back to her earliest memories, sparked by a childhood fascination with her grandmother’s box brownie cameras. Since then, she’s embarked on a humble journey, capturing the beauty of everyday moments and the essence of community.
Inspired by a talk given by Irish photographer Eamon Doyle, Deirdre pursued formal training at IADT in 1990, delving into Commercial Photography. Over the years, she’s poured her heart into various projects, from documenting Dublin’s Inner-City News to supporting Disability and Traveller Development Groups in Wicklow.
Beyond the lens, Deirdre’s creative spirit led her to explore the world of Jewellery Design, founding DMR Jewellery Design in 2019. Her exquisite designs reflect the same passion for storytelling and craftsmanship evident in her photography.
In this exhibition, Deirdre presents a blend of black-and-white analogue photographs and contemporary digital works, alongside her stunning jewellery creations. Each piece is a testament to her deep connection with the world around her and her enduring commitment to artistic expression.
