From Tuesday 19st July to Sunday 31st July 2011

Signal Arts Centre is pleased to present an exhibition by artist Louis Mc Loughlin.

Louis Mc Loughlin is a native of Bray, and now living in Leitrim. He was educated at Presentation College Bray, also attended St, Thomas Community College Bray. Louis studied at the National College of Art & Design and continued his studies at the Koninglijk Akadamie van Schone Kunste Antwerp. Louis most recent exhibition was held in Ballinamore "the Nature of the Crow" which was based on a quirky look at nature, through the eyes of the crow.

There comes a time in life when the world slows down enough to get a true glimpse of the beauty that surrounds us. By true he mean's to be honest and this is the hardest place from which to critically analyze what it means to be overwhelmed, to have the temerity to take stock of impressions and to grasp that moment with sincerity and then express it! "If I can do that, then I can earn the right to call myself "Artist".

This is all by the way as his true intention for this exhibition is to display an interpretation of the beauty that surrounds him in Leitrim. There are few places in the world that can hold a candle to this county and in a country of bountiful beauty there is something magical about the ruffed raw nature that surrounds him. Prior to moving here from West Cork he was primarily a still life artist. Now he will be painting life–ever changing, ever intoning its unique beauty, if only to capture it fleetingly. His work is framed in native hardwood, all crafted by his own hand.

Opening Reception: Friday 22nd July 7-9 p.m.
