Andrew Freeland | Wind

The act of strolling is the role that the flânuer holds within the world. While remaining hidden, lost among the crowd. During the act of strolling the flânuer accumulates knowledge of the urban space.  A Photograph taken within the confines of the street reflects the feelings from the photographer. So an unintentional self-portrait can be created and hidden within the imagery.

Imperfect Collective | Picking up the Pieces

Picking up the Pieces, … a three woman show about (im)perfection. This work is concerned with a collective pressure to avoid failure, in all its guises. As women, mothers, artists and humans, we struggle to reach societal perfection. We are exhausted and yet still fall short of the excellence we have been inculcated to seek. We can discern how we have become objects of criticism, being corrected, fixed and improved, in other words; failing.

Mo Roantree | Not About Any One Thing

“Not about any one thing” is an exhibition where Mo Roantree explores how she can reconcile her fears for the planet and her work as an artist. She addresses concerns about the despoilment and scarring of the Landscape and questions about the human condition. She is guided by Carl Jung’s quote “All energy can only proceed from the tensions of opposites.”

Jean Cleary | Embody

The human figure is central to the work of Jean Cleary’s sculptures. The sculptures she creates are made from a variety of clays, and ceramic surface treatments. ‘Looking’ has been an ongoing theme in her work. This ‘looking’ can be an inward action where we ‘look’ inside our minds, it can also be a direct gaze, an action with our eyes wide open.

Andrea Byrne | Imagining Animals

The starting point for this series of drawings comes from the artist’s interest in the complex and sometimes troubling relationships humans have with animals. Their docility, fearfulness or predatory nature have an effect on us in the wild or through contact as domestic pets.

Nina Ruminska | Outside of Now

“Outside of Now” is a showcase of portraits by Polish painter Nina Ruminska. In her work the artist is aiming to capture sitters in a moment of a quiet reflection, when they enter the realm of the infinity of their mind. It seems almost unthinkable in today’s reality, to pause for a few hours to just be. “Focus on the present” can be a remedy to all the uncertainty and anxiety we encounter every day. However, instead of being here and now, we often end up either replaying past events or making checklists for the future.
