Caitríona Ní Threasaigh | Dare To Roam

Caitríona Ní Threasaigh’s Dare To Roam exhibition is inspired by Paul Klee’s definition of drawing ie. ‘taking a line for a walk’. Working instinctually and using colour and line as the impulse, this work uncovers an imaginative environment populated with figures that range from the grotesque, sinister and distorted to the appealing, mischievous and playful.

Yvonne Pettitt | Nature

The paintings for “Nature” were inspired by Ballinglen, Co Mayo, an ancient landscape next to the Ceide field system which invokes a sense of continuity of the ancient timeline. Yvonne Pettitt’s paintings incorporate the traditional abstract practices of painting. They are painted ‘alla prima’ and modified. The aim is to draw the viewer in though constructing non-verbal visual spaces using compositional design, form, light and colour.

Gaby Browett | MoMA – MAMAC – ME

A fortuitous encounter with a bag of eyes in Paris was just the start. With the eyes in my possession, I began to see things differently… I feel most at home in modern and contemporary art museums. I imagine that most of the artists on the walls thought themselves mad at one point or another but their company made me feel less mad or maybe we were all joyfully mad together.

Bebhinn Eilish | Exhibitchin

Storytelling, particularly the re/telling of the female story is an important aspect to my work. I draw from heritage, fables, mythology and herstory through which I interrogate the power of women, their internal and external struggles. My art process serves as a conduit through which universal cultural taboos around the female and the female body can be played with.
