Bebhinn Eilish | Exhibitchin

Opening Reception: Friday 2nd September, 7pm – 9pm

25 year old Feminist Artist and Design Graduate (2020 viscomm IADT)

Storytelling, particularly the re/telling of the female story is an important aspect to my work. I draw from heritage, fables, mythology and herstory through which I interrogate the power of women, their internal and external struggles. My art process serves as a conduit through which universal cultural taboos around the female and the female body can be played with. With a BA in Graphic Design and self-taught in Fine Art, I work across mediums of traditional and digital painting, utilising the languages of both to communicate with audiences not confined to the traditional spaces of contemporary art viewing.

With a good social media presence and large growing following, my work has found a place in many homes globally as well as being exhibited in many publications worldwide. In the last two years I have had my work displayed in many national exhibitions and had the opportunity to further explore my own practices and develop my skills for my upcoming ‘Exhibitchin.’

This exhibition explores themes I am particularly interested in – such as sacred femininity, death, birth, and cultural taboos like body hair and free bleeding. Through my work I wish to inspire, empower and encourage introspection.
