Greg Murray’s Schools Project | WHAT I WANT TO DRAW
Opening Reception: 26th January, 6pm – 8pm
Signal Arts Centre along with Bray School Completion Programme (BSCP) are delighted to invite you to an exhibition of work by students from seven schools in Bray. This exhibition, entitled “What I Want to Draw”, is a collection of monochrome artwork ( i.e. pencil, charcoal, black paint or pen and ink), produced over a four week period by primary and secondary school students. It is also a social commentary on what is popular content for young people drawing today.
The idea for this exhibition began as a collaboration between artist Greg Murray and Michelle Murphy of (BSCP). Having worked together over the years on numerous school camps and many other art projects both are very aware of the positive effect and benefits of art practice on young students.
Along with the help of many of the teachers from all the schools participating, Greg and Michelle have put together a showcase of some of the young talented artists of Bray. Hoping to encourage the promotion of art in local schools and within the community in general.
Primary Schools participating include;
St. Kierans, St. Peters, Ravenswell and St. Andrews.
Secondary Schools participating include;
St. Kilians, Woodbrook and Educate Together.
This exhibition has been kindly funded by Bray School Completion Programme.
