Maggie Wright – Stills
View All Pieces
Maggie Wright is a figurative and portrait artist originally from Belfast. Graduating from the University of Ulster with a BA honours degree in Fine Art, Wright has been based in Dublin for the past number of years. Her work is housed in both public and private collections and she has also exhibited widely. Wright’s work has been shown in the Royal Hibernian Academy, the Royal Ulster Academy, the Eígse Arts Festival and the Boyle Arts Festival.
She has long been intrigued by the interactions of all living things. She believes that in a lot of our waking hours we are engaged in a form of dance. This she believes to be a primal commonality shared by all of us across all cultures.

A member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching club, Wright also has been drawing with the RHA self-directed group since 2010
When people “SIT” they often communicate more because they are not engaged in the “dance”, the veil is dropped.
Stills is a celebration of the medium that is drawing, both individually and as part of a narrative.
